Samatapheap Khnom Organization (SKO) is a Cambodian NGO dedicated to improving the living conditions of the poorest and most vulnerable families in Cambodia through the provision of programs that promote human rights and support access to services which maximize the potential for sustainable development in an informed and participatory manner.

Now SKO is seeking 1 senior social worker and 3 Social workers. He/she will be responsible for counseling and facilitating SKO activities by managing Family Development Program (FDP) through Family development Approach (FDA) to End Violence Against Women/Girl to the title: Empowered, Enabled, and Educating in urban poor community in Meachey and Chba Ampov district, Phnom Penh.

Contract start date: 1st May 2017

Position: Senior Social Worker (1 position)

Duties:

– Implement activities based on the orientations given by PM/Director
– Participate to the designing of monitoring tools
– Coordinate and consolidate the area reports of team members in the FDP monitoring tool, and check data and their consistency,
– Support the preparation of surveys and the pre and post assessment of target areas
– Follow up 20 family per year
– Coordinate and supervise the whole FDP team
– Recruit and evaluate team members/social workers
– Follow up and evaluate the work through regular field visits
– Provide Technical assistance for the family follow up team
– Facilitate case conferences/internal meetings
– Help staff for preparing their fund request for monthly expenses for activities
– Working with PM/Director in order to prepare a yearly training plan for staff
– Conduct training on specific social work components to Social Workers and other relevant actors. Eg. Family Budget, basic social work, Domestic Violence, Positive parenting skills, etc.
– Create guidelines/module for specific topics related to social work
– Participate in assessment of the training follow up plan
– Support networking officer & Team members to organize coordination meeting at field level
– Support networking officer & Team members to organize dissemination meeting
– Participate actively in networking activities with all partners (NGOs and LA)
– Assist Project Manager/Director to update tools for the project
– Identify the needs of the project staff (training, safety, personal need or feeling, etc.)
– Draft quarterly, semester, and yearly report for donors regarding the template provided (quantitative and qualitative) and Answer the question about the draft report

Requirements

– University degree-major social work or relevant degree an advantage.
– At least 3-5 years experiences on team managing and supporting regarding social work/ counseling for family development activities/regarding the violence against women and girls in urban poor community or relevant.
– Demonstrated ability coordination and supervision to team members and stakeholders.
– Ability/knowledge to end violence against women/girl.
– Willing to work with team and team work respecting.
– Proactive problem solving
– Ability plan, lead, organize control.
– Demonstrated commitment Human rights and respected child protection policy.
– Previous experience social work/family development Facilitation and communication skills.
– Fluent written verbal communication (in Khmer and English)
– Computer proficiency: MS Word, Excel, power point, email required.
– Ability handle variety tasks under pressure/excellence attention.
– Experienced about 2 years on practical facilitation skills (ToT), creation training curriculum/module with relevant topics to social work and family development activities and report writing.

Position: Social worker (3 positions)

Duties:

– Follow up 30 families for an average period of 6 months
– Explain clearly to the families the purpose of the Family Development Program (FDP)
– Give all family members the opportunity to speak and relieve their stress
– Understand properly the family situation (mainly by listening)
– Help families identify their strengths and weaknesses and use this understanding to improve their situation
– Work to keep families together whilst ensuring child protection
– Make sure that all the skills (Listening, Observation, questioning, responding, giving feedback, problem analysis) are applied with the family during counseling sessions
– Pay attention to risky situations (domestic violence, rape/abuse, child labor, abandoned/neglected child, education for children, etc.) and provide an immediate response
– Conduct case conferences with fellow staff members to ensure the most effective support for families
– Be able to summarize family cases both oral and written
– Complete the follow up tools and submit them to the database encoder in a timely manner
– Maintain good relationship with local/international NGOs (within and outside the target intervention)
– Contact new and already known NGOs/agencies with regards to the needs of families
– Ensure that NGO partners are aware of FDP/PCA
– Conduct/assist in coordination/facilitation of any local level meetings
– Build and maintain good relationships with local authorities (village commune and district levels)
– Facilitate training topics regarding to end violence against women/girl to women’s group, family development volunteers, and community.
– Write brief report (based on the form) and fill up the networking form after visiting the NGOs/LA then give back to Networking Officer
– Assist organization of coordination meetings at the local level.
– Give useful information to the family, based on the needs of the family
– Refer the families to other agencies when needed

Requirements

– University degree-major social work or relevant degree an advantage.
– At least 2 years experiences regarding social work/ counseling for family development activities in urban poor community or relevant.
– Demonstrated ability introduction your-self and organization to NGOs and local partners.
– Ability/knowledge to end violence against women/girl/Domestic violence.
– Willing to work with team and team work respecting.
– Knowledge on problem solving
– Ability to do activity plan, and self-follow up.
– Demonstrated commitment Human rights and respected child protection policy.
– Experienced social work / family development Facilitation and communication skills.
– Fluent written verbal communication in Khmer (English is preferred)
– Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, power point, email required.
– Ability handle variety tasks under pressure/excellence risk attention.
– Experienced on practical facilitation skills (ToT)
